One day in the summer of 2023, eleven-year-old Kenneth Gormly's life changed forever. This young nature lover from Monterey, California, managed to make the world aware of the imminent demise of one of the most majestic creatures on Earth: the whale. His action and determination sparked a movement that led to the worldwide protection of these marine mammals.

A boy with a mission

Kenneth grew up on the coast and spent his free time studying marine life. He had a special fascination for whales and was aware early on of the dangers that threatened these animals, such as plastic pollution, climate change and illegal whaling.
