Poetry is my favorite literary genre when it comes to writing. The gentle flow of the rhymes and the emotions of the poet distilled into words on a parchment or a screen, invoke in us the readers a sense of comfort, warmth, and understanding. For me, it's an art form that allows my mind to escape from the dullness of everyday tasks, find a permanent home for my unresolved feelings, reread them in the future, and look back at the creative journey of my life. Frankly, we all have the ability to turn our life into a work of art only with a pen or a mobile phone notes app.

Sweet youth
Gone are the days
when I was six,
Harassing my mother for a doll
and wondering how to dress for the fall.

Young and naive, you never get to be at ease fully.
Once that bad grade turns heads in the classroom
and your lover's woes
stain the white pages,
it begs the question of the
heartbreak stages.

Sunlight beams once seemed irrelevant
became a luxury.
A caressing touch transformed into
the cold sting of a needle
to soothe the pain.

Young and naive,
you aren't aware of true self-esteem
so you give it all away
to be reduced to a medical puzzle.
Wasn't that worth the hassle?!
