One hundred scientists from South America, the United Kingdom and beyond have been following the growth rate of the trees in the Amazon rainforest for years.In 188 places, they measured the diameter of various trees, identified the species and monitored how the trees developed.

Their findings appeared in the journal Nature Plants?

The trees get thicker faster due to the higher CO2 concentration in the air.

CO2 is the most important building block for the photosynthesis process in which trees convert sunlight into energy. Allowing them to grow and flourish.
